Will my change of name be centrally registered somewhere?

A change of name by Deed Poll is not registered or recorded in any central office.

It is possible to have a Deed Poll enrolled at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, but this is not legally required and it is expensive and time consuming, so few people choose to do this.

The Deed Polls provided by The Name Change Company are of the type most commonly used and recognised within the UK, and are not enrolled.

We only keep a copy of your Deed Poll if you have asked us to archive your Deed Poll for you, and this copy is for your use only.
